Appreciates coverage of St. Dennis Church renovation Print
Letters to the editor

To the editor:

Thank you for your feature on St. Dennis Church’s new altar, tabernacle, and renovation.

St. Dennis Parish is a welcoming faith community, but we feel these additions make it an even stronger Catholic one.

When Fr. Randy Timmerman speaks of Jesus and His sacrifice, he motions to the corpus on the large crucifix.
There was always a smaller crucifix carried in, but this one shows the compassion and the sacrifice in life-size. That has a powerful effect.

We hear often that Jesus is everywhere. But having that concrete image — not to mention the tabernacle where He truly lives — really brings it home to us and to our children.

Now at church we have every version of the body of Christ — the Sacrament, the community, and the visual.

We feel blessed to be a part of that.

Monica Simpson, St. Dennis Parish, Madison
