PLW concurs with cardinal on ‘contraceptive mentality’ Print
Letters to the editor
Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 -- 12:00 AM

To the editor:

Thank you to Mary Uhler and the Catholic Herald for your report on Cardinal Raymond Burke’s recent compelling address on the need to counter the “contraceptive mentality” and “advance the culture of life” with “new enthusiasm and new energy.”

As Pro-Wisconsin (PLW) embarks on our 20th year in 2012, we realistically concur with His Eminence Cardinal Burke, in recognition that “the struggle is fierce and the contrary forces are many and clever.”

From our very beginning, Pro-Life Wisconsin knew that our battle against abortion needs to include opposition to the contraceptive mentality.
Over the years, local forces fiercely opposing PLW’s holistic strategy have come from not only outside the Church and the pro-life movement but also from within.

As Pro-Life Wisconsin continues to call for consistency in proclaiming “the fullness of the truth,” how encouraging it is to have such a powerful voice, a Wisconsin son, speaking out so forcefully.

Please join Pro-Life Wisconsin as we tackle the entire contraceptive mentality. Contact us at or call 262-796-1111.

Peggy Hamill, state director, Pro-Life Wisconsin
