To the editor:
I’ve waited for a long time for the leaders (hierarchy) of the Church to begin speaking out. And then I read the piece in the July 1 edition of the Catholic Herald about the bishops and the Catholic Health Association. It states that Cardinal Francis George criticized “CHA and Sister Keehan, saying that she (they) have created the dangerous precedent of a parallel Magisterium to the bishops.”
My shock is with criticized! Criticized! He should have been decreeing her excommunication from the Church.
If there is not cause in this or for this, there is no cause for excommunication, and it should be declared anathema!
