Letters to the editor

To the editor:

Just finished reading your editorial, “Media Bias,” in the March 25 issue. I’m disappointed in the whining tone you have taken. I guess you and your family are not one of the many who have been affected by the lecherous activities of your parish priest. “Even if it happened 30 or 40 years ago.”

My dear lady, these events do not just go away. The continuing failure of the Church to deal with them appropriately in this day and age has done little to reassure me that the pope and the bishops fully realize what they have been covering up and allowing to continue.

So I am glad that the press has been airing our dirty linen on the front pages. And if those good Catholic politicians continue to embarrass the Church, so be it. They are all an embarrassment, no matter what faith they profess or political party.
