Letters to the editor

To the editor:

I must comment on your article, "What happened to freedom of religion?" (November 26, 2009, issue of the Catholic Herald) regarding contraceptive coverage.

The U.S .Constitution states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

Our bishops must go to the Supreme Court with their wisdom. They have the wisdom of our Lord Jesus and his prophets. Our bishops speak the words of God.

You cannot blame the lay person's ignorance. They do not study the Bible. For over 30 years birth control and abortion have been taught in our public schools.

Bishops should take the light of truth to the Supreme Court. The cost will be too great if we lose our freedom of religion.

God did not create death; the devil brought it into the world.

Birth control and abortion are moral issues, not political differences.
