MONONA -- The Federation of North American Explorers (FNE) is part of a worldwide movement of the Catholic Church, approved by the Holy See. The group meets on the first, third, and fifth Mondays of the month at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Monona during the school year.

Meetings include games, Scripture study, and occasional projects with the goal of forming ordinary saints. The group camps overnight once during autumn, winter, and spring. Monthly Saturday outings begin with Mass and include activities as well as occasional service to the host parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary, as well as in the community.

FNE is currently recruiting boys ages eight to 12 years old to join the movement. The FNE program as a whole is open to girls and boys ages six to 17; however, leaders are needed to implement the girls’ group as well as to lead the six to seven year-old and 13 to 17 year-old boys.

Meetings begin in mid-September. For more information, call Group Leader Jeff Bond at 608-445-0167 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Visit www.fneexplorers.com for more information on the worldwide FNE movement.
