MADISON -- The Church Center for Land and People (CCLP) will be serving up a winter market and brunch at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 602 Everglade Dr., Madison, on Saturday, Jan. 31.
A Winter Farmers' Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring local products such as cheeses, meats, potatoes, goat milk soap, and woolen goods.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will also be a delicious brunch, prepared by Barbara Wright from The Dardanelles Restaurant, using local Wisconsin farmers' products. Suggested brunch donation: adults $10; youth (5 to 13) $4; families $25; children under 5 are free.
For more information, contact Jennifer Ludtke at 608-833-2600 or
A portion of the brunch proceeds will benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Conference, Lussier Community Education Center, and MOM Food Pantries.
A portion of each farm produce purchase will benefit the Harvest of Hope Farm Crisis Fund, which serves farm families throughout rural Wisconsin.
The public is invited to come meet and support local farmers and buy and eat nutritious locally grown farm products -- helping sustain local farming communities in tough times -- by eating well in good company.
CCLP was begun during the 1980s farm crisis and remains to this day an active outreach partner with faith communities throughout Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois, including the Diocese of Madison.
