SUN PRAIRIE -- While it may be a bit early to be thinking about 2009, the children at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary School in Sun Prairie have already given it a great deal of thought.

The 2009 raffle calendar includes inspiring thoughts from children throughout the school. Each month features a different question including "Where do you see love?," "Name one special thing you learned from a teacher?," and "What do you do to help others?" Children wrote responses that are included throughout the calendar.

"The children have a great perspective that is sure to make anyone smile all year through" said Kim Frederick, principal. One second-grader, in answer to "How are you and your dad alike?" answered "we both like taking a nap."

Only 3,000 raffle calendars are sold at $25 each. Proceeds support Catholic education at Sacred Hearts School. As a perpetual raffle, winning tickets are included in future drawings for the rest of the year. All prizewinners are mailed a check for the total of their winnings. Daily winners are posted at

To read the students' wisdom and have more than 400 chances to win daily prizes ranging from $25 to $300, purchase a raffle calendar by contacting Jill Conaway at the school at 608-837-8508.
