Oregon: Trash And Treasure Sale ( All Day )

There will be a trash and treasure sale at Holy Mother of Consolation Church, 651 N. Main St., on Thursday, May 17, and Friday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. There will be a half-price sale on Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, May 20, after Masses.




Portage: Best Fest ( 8:00 am - 9:00 am )

St. Mary Parish will hold its Best Fest on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 18, 19, and 20, at 307 W. Cook St. Friday is Family Fun Night with activities under the tent including face painting, balloon artistry, music, a dance class, and entertainment. The Run/Walk will kick off events on Saturday. There will be entertainment and Mass. Sunday will feature Anna Davidson with guest Kaylin Kole, mini raffle and raffle drawing, and amusement rides. Bob Viking and crew will entertain throughout the weekend. There will also be a vendor and craft fair, concessions, bake sale, and cake walk.




Theater Bus May Events ( All Day )

The Theater Bus for persons 55 and over will be traveling to the following events in May:
• Wednesday, May 2 -- The Fantastics will present a funny and romantic musical about a boy, a girl, a wall, and two fathers whose plans to bring their children together is keeping them apart, at Tandem Theater in Milwaukee. Lunch is at Aliota's. Cost is $80.
• Saturday, May 5 -- Sex, Sin and the CIA at the Rhode Arts Center in Kenosha. A farce about a tiny island nation with excessive oil reserves and many people vying for the options of those reserves. Lunch is at Villa D'Carlo's. Cost is $69.
• Sunday, May 20 -- Cabaret, a popular musical which explores the dark and heady life in Berlin as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich, will be seen at the Weber Arts Center in La Crosse. Lunch is at Piggy's. Cost is $86.

Sinsinawa: One-Woman Play ( 6:30 pm )

A one-woman play "Joan Chittister: Her Story, My Story, Our Story," will be performed by Teri Bays telling the story of Sr. Joan Chittister's life at Sinsinawa Mound on Monday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m. Bays will perform her work through scenes, dialogues, and actual letters, as well as portions of Sister Joan's books and speeches. Sister Joan, a Benedictine Sister of Erie, is an internationally renowned author and outspoken advocate of justice, peace, and equality for women. A freewill offering will be accepted.

Milwaukee: Capella Quirini ( 7:00 pm )

The Capella Quirini from the Basilica of St. Quirinus, Neuss, Germany, will perform at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 812 N. Jackson St., on Tuesday, May 22, at 7 p.m. This will be their only Milwaukee performance of their Midwest tour. This concert is free. A freewill offering will be taken to assist the choir with their costs.

A bake and rummage sale sponsored by Holy Ghost Court 228 of the National Catholic Society of Foresters will be held in the Holy Ghost Church basement, 305 W. Main St., during Memorial Day weekend, Friday through Monday, May 25 through 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Saturday until 5 p.m.). Proceeds will go towards the Grotto Patriotic Shrine fountain repairs.
