Sinsinawa: Exhibit ( 10:00 am - 5:00 pm )

"Living the Good Life with the Beatitudes" will be featured at the Sinsinawa Art Gallery April 5 through June 5 featuring a meditative series by artist Barbara Smits of De Pere. The exhibit is a presentation of digitally enhanced photographic artworks created to illustrate Smits' e-book by the same name. This show is the first time that the two have been combined into one artistic gallery presentation. DeForest: Luncheon ( 11:00 am - 1:00 pm )

The St. Olaf Council of Catholic Women will hold its 38th annual spring luncheon on Thursday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the St. Olaf Parish Center, 615 Jefferson St. It is co-sponsored by Catholic Financial Life.




Madison: Edgewood College Events ( 3:00 pm )

Several events will be held at Edgewood College, 1000 Edgewood College Dr.

An exhibition of "nevertheless, she persisted: Prints by Contemporary Women Artists" will open on Wednesday, March 21, and run through Sunday, May 13. An artists' reception will be held Friday, March 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Edgewood College Gallery with remarks by Curator Annemarie Sawkins at 6 p.m. A lecture by Sawkins will be held Thursday, April 19, at 3 p.m., in the gallery. Community and school groups are encouraged to make appointments for guided tours of the exhibition by calling 608-663-3252.

The Concert Band will perform on Sunday, March 25, at 2:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Chapel. Admission is free, with a freewill offering taken to benefit the Luke House Community Meal Program. The program features traditional music for concert band, as well as "Make our Garden Grow" by Leonard Bernstein and "Street Tango" by Astor Piazolla.

A Spring concert featuring featuring the  Women's Choir, the Guitar Ensemble, the Chamber Singers, and the Edgewood Chorale will be held Friday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. The Women's Choir and Chamber Singers are student ensembles, and the Guitar Ensemble and Edgewood Chorale are part of Edgewood College's community outreach, with musicians from all walks of life who want to enjoy music and continue their music education. Admission is free.

Edgerton: Fish Fry ( 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm )

Knights of Columbus Council 6508 at St. Joseph Parish will host a fish fry on Friday, April 20, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. (or until the food is gone) in the church's parish hall, 590 S. St. Joseph Cir. The menu features fried or baked cod and mac and cheese. Carryouts are available by calling 608-289-6543. Profits will benefit Knights of Columbus programs.




Madison: Spring Fling ( 5:30 pm )

Edgewood High School will sponsor its Spring Fling on Friday, April 20, at the Edgewater Hotel in Madison. Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., and Blues Lounge and dessert bar at 9 p.m. There will be a live auction and Mazzuchelli Fund appeal. Sinsinawa: Documentary Viewing ( 6:30 pm )

In Pursuit of Silence, a documentary, will be shown at Sinsinawa Mound on Friday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. The film is a meditative exploration of one's relationship with silence, sound, and the impact of noise on one's life. The music of Czech Republic and America will be bridged at a special concert on Saturday, April 21, at 2:30 p.m. This concert features Dr. Št?pán Filípek, cellist, of Brno, Czech Republic, and Dr. Katelyn Bouska, pianist, of Philadelphia, Pa., bringing together the rich and vibrant music from Czech and American cultures spanning the 20th and 21st centuries. McFarland: Dinner ( 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm )

The eighth annual King Fest spaghetti dinner will be held on Saturday, April 21, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Christ the King Parish hall, 5306 Main St. Mac and cheese will be available. Guests can purchase a glass of wine, beer, or soda to enjoy with their dinner. There will be a bake sale and a 50/50 raffle.

The Theater Bus for persons 55 and over will be traveling to the following events:

• Sunday, March 25 -- Clue the Musical will be presented at the Waukesha Civic Theater. The fun-filled family musical brings the internationally popular game CLUE to life and invites the audience to help solve the mystery. No meal is provided with this event.

• Sunday, April 22 -- Don't Dress for Dinner at Sunset Playhouse in Elm Grove. Lunch is at the Oconomowoc Golf Club. Cost is $71.

• Wednesday, April 25 -- Happy Days, a new musical will be held at the Palace Theater in Wisconsin Dells. Set in Milwaukee and written by the creator of the television series, this production includes 21 original songs and the Happy Days television theme song. Lunch is included. Cost is $86.

Sunday, April 29 -- Southern Sirens at the Bell Tower, Dubuque, is a new comedy featuring five middle aged friends as they enjoy an all girls' beach getaway. Lunch is at the Hotel Julien. Cost is $81.
