A blessed Easter Print
Bishop Morlino's Column
Thursday, Apr. 09, 2009 -- 12:00 AM

Dear Friends,

morlino column logoThis last week, on Palm Sunday, we were presented with the "icon," the image, of Jesus arriving in Jerusalem on a donkey, to hear the praises of the people, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the Highest!"

Archbishop Pietro Sambi, the personal representative of our Holy Father, in his first address to the bishops of the United States, said to us, "Always remember that you are nothing but a donkey. But, it was the donkey who carried the Messiah toward his destiny." This was reminiscent of the words of St. Josemaria. As we enter into Easter, through the very special celebrations of Holy Week, let us commit ourselves to be nothing but donkeys, bearing on our shoulders the Messiah of the Lord -- not only at Easter time, but every blessed day.

Please be assured of my prayerful best wishes for you and your loved ones at Easter time and for the whole Easter season. You are very much in my heart and in my prayers -- as you are every single day. You know that I need your prayers as well, especially as we move through times that can be very difficult. Every time of suffering brings with it a time of resurrection -- that is our faith!

Thank you for reading this. God Bless you all. Have a wonderful Easter Season. And, above all, praised be Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, Alleluia!
