Ad Formats
Material Requirements
- QuarkXPress File
- Must send Quark file
- All photos used
- All fonts used including suitcase and postscript
- A printed proof
Photo Requirements
- All photos should be saved as TIFF or EPS
- All photos should be saved as B/W or CMYK
- Resolution should be at least 170 dpi for photos, 300 dpi for line art
- Line screen is 85 lpi

Liability
The Catholic Herald reserves the right to replace any font in any ad that defaults or
causes problems for the printer. If fonts are not included with the file, the Catholic
Herald will substitute the missing fonts with similar fonts. In addition, for any ad file
that is sent in an unacceptable format, the Catholic Herald reserves the right to make
any necessary changes and/or recreate ad according to specification guidelines.
Deadlines
The Catholic Herald is published every Thursday. Space reservations must be made 7 days in advance for the following edition.

Policies
- All advertising is accepted subject to approval by the publisher.
- The Catholic Herald reserves the right to refuse or cancel any advertisement at any time.
- Minimum size is 1 column wide by 1 inch deep.
- Publisher is not responsible for errors in advertisements accepted after normal deadlines.
- Ads that appear in a form similar to news material will have the word "advertisement" inserted above the ad.
- The Catholic Herald will not knowingly accept or publish material that is in violation of the law. Advertisers and/or agency state that either has the authority to place the ad and agree to assume liability for all contents of all ads printed, as well as any claim arising therefrom made against The Catholic Herald.
- All agreements should be in writing.
- Contracts must be completed within time specified.
- Uncompleted contracts will be short rated.
- Commission to agencies: 15%
