TV Programs of Note

Monday-Friday, 2:30 p.m., Inspiration Channel (cable) -- "Catholic Mass."

Monday-Sunday, 7 a.m., 11:10 a.m., 6 p.m., 11 p.m., EWTN (cable) - "Daily Mass." No 6 p.m. showing on Sunday.

Sunday, April 28, 7 a.m., WISC (CBS) - "Mass." Celebrated by Msgr. Thomas Campion, sponsored by Apostolate to the Handicapped.

Tuesday, April 30, 8 p.m., Hallmark (cable) - "Enchanted April" (1992). Charming period piece about the transformation four world-weary London women (Joan Plowright, Miranda Richardson, Josie Lawrence, and Polly Walker) experience when they impulsively rent a medieval castle for a month in sunny Italy. Based on Elizabeth von Armin's 1922 novel, director Mike Newell offers up a sweetly fanciful film about characters removed from their drab routines who learn the value of tolerance and renewed commitment to relationships. Very mild sexual innuendo. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops classification of the theatrical version was A-II - adults and adolescents. The Motion Picture Association of America rating was PG - parental guidance suggested.

Thursday, May 2, 7 p.m., Fox (cable) - "Return of the Jedi" (1983). In the third installment of the "Star Wars" trilogy, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) has a revealing confrontation with Darth Vader, Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) finally get somewhere with their romance, Billy Dee Williams saves the day with his air support and R2D2 and C3PO steal some major scenes. Directed by Richard Marquand, it's fun for action fans but the violence and tension from some of the nasty characters (Jabba the Hutt is not only scary, but disgusting) may be too intense for the younger crowd. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops classification of the theatrical version was A-II - adults and adolescents. The Motion Picture Association of America rating was PG - parental guidance suggested.
